Galaxy/The codex of Pylades

The lifelong companion of Orestes, raised beside him by Strophius, who joined his revenge and Taurian voyage before marrying Electra.1

I

Strophius raised Orestes with his own son Pylades. The pair returned secretly to Mycenae, where Pylades accompanied Orestes in the killing of Clytemnestra and Aegisthus.2

II

Pylades then sailed with Orestes to Tauris, faced sacrifice beside him, and escaped with Iphigenia and the image of Artemis.3

III

Orestes joined Pylades and Electra in marriage. Pausanias records their sons as Medon and Strophius and located Electra's tomb at Mycenae.4
