Apollodorus names Erigone among the possible accusers who brought Orestes to trial for killing Clytemnestra and Aegisthus. The evenly divided court acquitted him.2

The same mythographer says that, according to some, Orestes married Erigone rather than Hermione and fathered Tisamenus by her.3⚖

Pausanias preserves both women in separate lines: Hermione bore Tisamenus, while Erigone, daughter of Aegisthus, bore Orestes the illegitimate Penthilus.4⚖
