A Nereid named only in Homer's Iliad among the sea-sisters who surround Thetis in grief for Achilles — catalogue attestation without further myth in our sources.1
When Hephaestus forged new armour for Achilles, Thetis left Olympus and plunged into the deep; the bright cave filled with all the daughters of Nereus, and among those Homer names explicitly are Clymene, Ianeira, Ianassa, Maera, Orithyia and fair-tressed Amatheia, beating their breasts beside glorious Galatea and Nemertes.2
Hesiod's Theogony does not repeat her name in the Nereid roll preserved in our corpus, but the Iliad mourning-list stands as sufficient attestation under the Homer lens. The atlas marks her honestly: a sea-sister present at Thetis' lament, with no standalone tale beyond that scene.3
