A Nereid daughter of Nereus whom Hesiod calls Nemertes who has the nature of her deathless father — named also in Homer's mourning roll; not to be merged with Nemesis or any separate truth-goddess outside this catalogue.1
Hesiod closes his Nereid roll with a small cluster of named sisters — Neso, Eupompe, Themisto, Pronoe, and Nemertes who has the nature of her deathless father — then declares that these fifty daughters sprang from blameless Nereus, skilled in excellent crafts.2
Homer shows Nemertes in the bright cave when Thetis grieves, listed beside Doris, Pynope and glorious Galatea. Her epithet Truthful echoes her father's own title the Old Man of the Sea who neither lies nor forgets, yet she carries no independent myth beyond these catalogue attestations in our sources.3
