In Greek mythology, Amatheia (Ancient Greek Ἀμάθεια, "she who rears/nurses" or "sparkling water") is the "fair-tressed" Nereid described with azure or luxuriant locks. One of the fifty sea-nymphs, she is a daughter of Nereus and the Oceanid Doris; Homer names her among Thetis' mourning sisters. Name variants include Æmathia, Amathea, and Amathia.

Amatheia appears in the Homeric catalogue of Nereids who surround Thetis in grief for Achilles. She has no independent myth beyond that catalogue role — a thin but named sea-sister in the atlas Nereid inventory.
Keep her distinct from other Amath- stems and from mortal eponyms that share similar spellings.
