Apollodorus names Alcyone and Medusa as the two daughters Sthenelus begot upon Nicippe before the son Eurystheus, who reigned over Mycenae when the Perseid line still held the fortress. She stands in the generation between Perseus' founding sons and the lord who imposed the Labours on Heracles.2
