In Greek mythology, Alcyone (Ancient Greek Ἀλκυόνη) is a name borne by several women. The atlas node alcyone-sthenelid is the Perseid princess of Mycenae — daughter of Sthenelus son of Perseus and of Nicippe daughter of Pelops, sister of Eurystheus and of Medusa — distinct from the Aeolid wife of Ceyx and from the Pleiad of the same name.

I.Daughter of Sthenelus
Apollodorus places Alcyone among the children of Sthenelus and Nicippe (also called Antibia or Archippe in rival notices). She belongs to the Perseid generation that holds Mycenae before the birth-contest that crowns her brother Eurystheus over Heracles.
One tradition records that Heracles killed the centaur Homados after the creature attempted to rape her — a brief heroic debt owed by the princess to the hero her brother's house oppressed.
