Sire of the Moliones Cteatus (`cteatus-epeian`) and Eurytus (`eurytus-epeian`) — the Epeian house Homer calls 'of the blood of Actor' when Nestor musters Amphimachus and Thalpius at Troy.1
Homer names Actor only through his sons' line: Amphimachus and Thalpius lead the Epeians at Troy as men of the blood of Actor, the one born of Cteatus and the other of Eurytus. Nestor remembers how he almost slew the twin Moliones in battle before Poseidon shrouded them in mist.2
Apollodorus makes Cteatus and Eurytus twin sons of Actor by Molione — two bodies joined in one, whom Augeas appointed generals when Heracles marched against Elis; Pausanias remembers their tomb at Cleonae. He must be kept distinct from Actor the Argonaut (`actor-argonaut`) and from other Actors in the genealogies.3
