Hesiod counts Speo among the early names in the Nereid catalogue — after Galene and Glauce and Cymothoe, beside Thoe and lovely Halie — one of the daughters born to Nereus and rich-haired Doris.2

Apollodorus repeats Speo in the Bibliotheca's Nereid list. Homer names Speio among the sisters who fill the bright cave when Thetis grieves for Achilles, alongside Cymodoce and Nesaea. No further episode attaches to her in our sources.3
