Medon (Ancient Greek Μέδων, "lord" or "ruler") was an Achaean leader, bastard son of Oileus of Locris by Rhene (or Alcimache) and half-brother of Ajax the Lesser. Exiled to Phylace after killing a kinsman of his stepmother Eriopis, he marshalled Philoctetes' men at Troy and was slain by Aeneas.

I.Marshal of Philoctetes' host
When Philoctetes was left on Lemnos with a festering snakebite, Medon took command of his ships and fought in the forefront of the Phthian–Locrian contingent. Homer records his death at Aeneas' hands in the battle for the ships.
His exile story — flight after killing a relative of Eriopis — explains why a Locrian prince leads from Phylace rather than from Oileus' halls.

Other Medons include Odysseus' faithful Ithacan herald (atlas medon-ithaca), a cruel Dulichian suitor, Antenor's Trojan son, and later historical archons. The atlas id medon-phthian is Oileus' bastard captain alone.
