Phylacus
Eponymous lord of Phylace whose halls held Melampus and whose cattle were guarded there — grandfather of the Phthian captains Protesilaus and Podarces. Distinct from the Phylacus slain in Iliad 6 and from the Delphic local hero.1
Iphiclus
Son of Phylacus, rich in flocks, left behind in Phylace when the Argo sailed — father of Protesilaus and Podarces. Distinct from Iphiclus son of Thestius.2
Protesilaus
Warlike leader of those who held Phylace and the Phthian towns; first Achaean ashore at Troy, slain before his house in Phylace was fully established.3
Podarces
Younger brother of Protesilaus who marshalled the Phthians when the host longed for their fallen leader — successor of the Phylace contingent at Troy.4
