Daughter of Pelops and wife of Mestor son of Perseus at Mycenae, mother of Hippothoe — whose abduction by Poseidon began the Taphian line that would raid Electryon's cattle a generation later.1
Apollodorus records that Mestor wedded Lysidice, daughter of Pelops, and by her had a daughter Hippothoe. Poseidon carried Hippothoe off to the Echinadian Islands and begat Taphius, who colonized Taphos and named its people the Teleboans — so Lysidice's marriage linked the Pelopid house to the seafaring raiders who would claim Mestor's kingdom.2
When Electryon reigned at Mycenae the sons of Pterelaus came with Taphians claiming the kingdom of Mestor, their maternal grandfather — the quarrel that cost Electryon all nine legitimate sons and opened the path toward Amphitryon, Alcmena, and Heracles.3
