In Greek mythology, Ialmenus (Ialmenos) is son of Ares and Astyoche and twin brother of Ascalaphus. With his brother he sails on the Argo, courts Helen, and leads the Minyan contingent from Orchomenus and Aspledon to Troy. Unlike Ascalaphus, he survives the war; later tradition sends him to Colchis as founder of a Pontic Achaean colony.

I.Twin of Ascalaphus
Apollodorus and Homer pair Ialmenus with Ascalaphus as sons of Ares by Astyoche. They count among the Argonauts and among Helen's suitors. In the Catalogue of Ships the twins lead thirty hollow ships of the Minyans from Aspledon and Orchomenus of the Minyai.
Ascalaphus falls at Troy; Ialmenus lives. Strabo preserves the notice that he ended in Colchis and founded a settlement whose people were later called Achaeans of Pontus — a rare postwar fate for a Boeotian–Minyan captain.

The atlas id ialmenus-minyan is this Aresid twin. His brother is the separate node ascalaphus-minyan (not to be confused with Ascalaphus the underworld orchard-watcher, ascalaphus-demeter).
