Named in Apollodorus only as the father of Anaxibia, whom Nestor married after inheriting sandy Pylos — a bare patronymic with no further attestation in the pinned corpus.1

When Nestor alone survived Heracles' sack of Pylos, Apollodorus makes him marry Anaxibia, daughter of Cratieus, and beget the princes and princesses of the Trojan generation — Pisidice, Polycaste, Perseus, Stratichus, Aretus, Echephron, Pisistratus, Antilochus, and Thrasymedes. The mythographer names Cratieus once as Anaxibia's father and records nothing else of him.2
