Son of Cleson; founded the citadel with Leleges from the Megarid before Neleus and the Pelasgians of Iolcos drove him out to the Pylos in Elis.1

Founder of sandy Pylos after his banishment from Iolcus; raised the city to such renown that Homer calls it the city of Neleus.2

Sole survivor when Heracles sacked Pylos; old king of sandy Pylos who counselled the Achaeans at Troy with ninety ships, and in Messenian reckoning inherited Aphareus' kingdom too.3
Thrasymedes
Son of Nestor singled out with Antilochus among the Pylians at Troy; after Nestor's death Pausanias keeps his tomb outside the city and traces the Neleid house through him until the Heraclids expelled his line from Messenia.4
Alcmaeon
Son of Sillus, grandson of Thrasymedes — named among the descendants of Nestor whom the returning Heraclids expelled from Messenia (not the Argive Epigonus Alcmaeon).5
Melanthus
Neleid of Periclymenus' line; expelled with the rest from Messenia, then deposed Thymoetes and took the Athenian throne — the last Pylian Neleid named in the exile.6
