When Nauplius corrupted the heroes' wives on the Returns, Meda took Leucus as lover on Crete — the Cretan parallel to Clytemnestra and Aegisthus at Mycenae.2

Before Idomeneus landed after Troy, Leucus killed Meda and her daughter Clisithyra, who had fled to a temple for refuge; he detached ten cities from Crete and made himself tyrant over them, driving the victor into exile when he came home.3
