One of the three named Erinyes — Alecto, Tisiphone and Megaera — whom Apollodorus and Hyginus count among the Furies born from the castrated sky's blood on Earth.1
Apollodorus names Alecto first among the Furies who rose when the bloody drops of flowing blood from the castrated Uranus fell upon Gaia — the same grim birth Hesiod assigns the Erinyes beside the Giants and the ash-tree Meliae. Hyginus's genealogical preface likewise lists Alecto, Megaera and Tisiphone among the offspring of Aether and Terra, registering a rival parentage on topic `erinyes-parentage`. The collective node `erinyes` holds the chthonic office of the three; this node is the individual named in both rolls.2⚖
