Galaxy/The codex of Aether

The bright upper air, born when Nyx joined with Erebus — light emerging from the union of Night and Darkness.1

I

From Chaos came Erebus and black Night; Night then conceived by Erebus and bore Aether and Day. Hesiod makes brightness and daylight the first children of the two primeval darknesses.2

II

Hyginus rearranges the first family. Night, Day, Erebus and Aether all arise together from Chaos and Caligo, or Mist; Aether and Day then become parents of Earth, Heaven and Sea.3
