I

Rhacius

Cretan leader of the first Greeks to reach the Colophonian coast while the Carians still held the land — strong in ships on the shore; later married Manto when the Delphic colonists were brought to him at Clarus.1

II

Manto

Daughter of Tiresias, dedicated to Apollo after Thebes fell; at the god's command she crossed to the Colophonian land, married Rhacius the Cretan, and with her people was allowed to inhabit the country.2

III

Mopsus

Son of Rhacius and Manto in Pausanias' colonization tale — he drove the Carians from the land; Apollodorus instead makes the Colophonian seer who outprophesied Calchas a son of Apollo and Manto. Not the Argonaut Mopsus son of Ampycus.3

IV

Damasichthon

Son of Codrus; with his brother Promethus he took the kingship when the Ionians joined the Greeks already at Colophon on equal terms. Distinct from Damasichthon the Theban (Niobid or son of Opheltes).4

V

Promethus

Son of Codrus who killed his brother Damasichthon and fled to Naxos, where he died; his body was carried home and received by the sons of Damasichthon.5
