Pyraechmes (Ancient Greek: Πυραίχμης) is, with Asteropaeus, a leader of the Paeonians in the Trojan War. Homer places him in the Catalogue as captain from Amydon by the Axius; Patroclus kills him first when, dressed in Achilles' armour, he storms the Trojans back from the ships. Unlike Asteropaeus he has no Homeric pedigree, though Dictys names his father Axius.

I.Paeonian captain
Homer's Trojan Catalogue names Pyraechmes leader of the Paeonians with curved bows from Amydon and the wide-flowing Axius. Apollodorus counts him among the allies who joined the Trojans after years of siege.
Although the Catalogue introduces him early, he plays a smaller role than Asteropaeus, a later and more illustrious Paeonian arrival. Homer gives Asteropaeus a riverine pedigree; for Pyraechmes he gives none, save later notices such as Dictys Cretensis naming Axius as father.
II.Death at the ships
When Patroclus, wearing Achilles' armour, routed the Trojans from the ships, the first man he killed was Pyraechmes — struck on the right shoulder beside the stern of Protesilaus' vessel. The Paeonians fled in panic after their captain fell.
