One of the fifty daughters of Danaus by Pieria — by lot the bride of Oeneus son of Egyptus when the sons of Aegyptus by Gorgo married the Pieria maidens at Argos; distinct from Podarces king of Troy and the Phthian captain Podarces son of Iphiclus.1

Apollodorus lists Podarce second among the daughters of Danaus borne on Pieria. When the sons of Egyptus by Gorgo cast lots for the Pieria maidens, Oeneus drew Podarce — a namesake only of Oeneus king of Calydon. On the wedding night she received her father's dagger and, like her sisters, slew her bridegroom — Hyginus counts her among the brides who obeyed Danaus.2
