In Greek mythology, Plexippus (Greek: Plexippos) was a Pleuronian prince, a son of King Thestius of Pleuron and Eurythemis, and thus a brother of Althaea and an uncle of the hero Meleager. He took part in the hunt for the Calydonian Boar. When his nephew Meleager awarded the prize of the boar's hide to the huntress Atalanta, Plexippus was angered, and in the ensuing quarrel Meleager killed him. He is one of several distinct mythological figures who bear the name Plexippus.

I.Family
Plexippus was a prince of Pleuron, the son of King Thestius and Eurythemis. Among his many siblings were the brothers with whom he is associated in myth and the sisters Althaea and Leda.
Through his sister Althaea, who married Oeneus of Calydon, Plexippus was the maternal uncle of the hero Meleager.
II.Mythology
Together with his brother Toxeus, Plexippus took part in the hunt for the Calydonian Boar, the great beast sent by Artemis to ravage the land of Calydon.
After the boar was killed, Meleager awarded the prize of its hide to the huntress Atalanta. Plexippus was angered that the trophy had been given to a woman, and in the quarrel that followed his nephew Meleager killed him.
III.Other figures named Plexippus
The name Plexippus is shared by several other distinct figures in Greek mythology. A Thracian prince Plexippus was a son of Phineus and Cleopatra and a brother of Pandion; the two brothers were blinded by their father Phineus at the instigation of their stepmother Idaea.
An Egyptian prince Plexippus was one of the sons of Aegyptus; he married, and was killed by, Amphicomone, a daughter of Danaus.
An Arcadian prince Plexippus was a son of King Choricus and a brother of Enetus and Palaestra.
