Lands/Pleuron
I

Pleuron

Eponymous son of Aetolus by Pronoe; with his brother Calydon he gave his name to the Aetolian city that heads this house.1

II

Agenor

Son of Pleuron by Xanthippe; by Epicaste, daughter of Calydon, he begat Porthaon and Demonice — the hinge from which the Porthaonid and Thestiad lines diverge.2

III

Porthaon

Homeric Portheus, son of Agenor; his three peerless sons Agrius, Melas, and the horseman Oeneus dwelt in Pleuron and steep Calydon — the Porthaonid trunk shared with the sister city.3

IV

Thoas

Son of Andraemon and Gorge; in all Pleuron and steep Calydon lord over the Aetolians when Oeneus' house was gone, honoured of the folk even as a god.4
