Galaxy/The codex of Phoenix

A son of Agenor who was sent to search for the abducted Europa. Giving up the search, he settled in the land that was named Phoenicia after him.1

I

When Europa was carried off by the bull, King Agenor ordered his sons—Cadmus, Phoenix, and Cilix—to search for her and strictly forbade them to return without her.2

II

Realizing that finding the girl was impossible, none of the brothers returned home. Phoenix settled in a nearby region bordering the sea, and the land was subsequently called Phoenicia in his honor.3
