One of the fair-cheeked Graeae whom Hesiod names beside Pemphredo as a grey-haired daughter of Phorcys and Ceto; Apollodorus counts her among the three grey sisters who share one eye and one tooth.1
Hesiod names saffron-robed Enyo with Pemphredo among the Graiae grey from their birth, daughters of Phorcys and Ceto and sisters of the Gorgons. Apollodorus makes Enyo one of the three Phorcides — Enyo, Pephredo and Dino — who pass a single eye and tooth among them until Perseus snatches both. Hyginus lists Enyo between Pemphredo and Persis (whom others call Dino). The collective node `graeae` holds the shared eye; this node is the individual named in all three rolls.2
The atlas keeps this Enyo distinct from the war-goddess Enyo — no separate node for the latter yet — who would belong to a different divine stock if promoted.3
