The third Graia whom Apollodorus names beside Enyo and Pephredo as a daughter of Phorcys who shares one eye and one tooth with her sisters; Hyginus records the variant Persis for the same place.1
Hesiod names only two Graiae — Pemphredo and Enyo — grey from their birth. Apollodorus expands the roll to three for the Perseus episode: Enyo, Pephredo and Dino, old women from their birth, who pass a single eye and tooth in turn until Perseus forces from them the road to the nymphs of the winged sandals. Hyginus registers the third name as Persis, 'for this last others say Dino.' The collective node `graeae` holds the count dispute; this node is the third individual in Apollodorus' roll.2
