Idomeneus had come on foot from the curved ships and would have yielded great victory to the Trojans, had not Coeranus speedily driven up the swift horses; yet Hector cast at Deucalion's son and missed him by but little, and smote Coeranus the charioteer who followed Meriones from Lyctus.2
