Galaxy/The codex of Astyoche

In Greek mythology, Astyoche or Astyocheia (Ancient Greek Ἀστυόχη, "possessor of the city") is a name attributed to many women. The atlas node astyoche-minyan is the Minyan maiden — daughter of Actor son of Azeus of Orchomenus — who conceived the twin captains Ascalaphus and Ialmenus when Ares lay with her in secret in the upper chamber of her father's palace.

I.Mother of Ascalaphus and Ialmenus

Homer and the genealogists place Astyoche in Actor's palace at Orchomenus: Ares entered her upper chamber in secret and she bore the twin leaders who later take the Minyan contingent to Troy. Pausanias preserves the same Minyan mother in the Orchomenian king-list tradition.

Homonym care is strict: not Astyoche daughter of Simoeis (mother of Tros); not Laomedon's daughter who marries Telephus; not the Atreid sister sometimes called mother of Pylades; not Astyoche mother of Tlepolemus by Heracles. The atlas id is the Minyan mother of the twin captains alone.
