In Greek mythology, Arcesilaus (Ancient Greek Ἀρκεσίλαος) is a Boeotian leader in the Trojan War, son of Lycus and Theobule (or of Areilycus in some notices), brother of Prothoenor. He brings ten ships to Troy and is slain by Hector.

I.Boeotian captain
Homer's Catalogue lists Arcesilaus among the Boeotian leaders who sail from the Boeotian towns. He and Prothoenor are sons of Areilycus in some handbook strands, of Lycus and Theobule in others.
In the Iliad Hector kills him in the fighting for the ships; his fall marks one of the named Boeotian deaths under Trojan pressure.
II.Homonym care
The atlas id arcesilaus is the Homeric Boeotian. He is not Arcesilaus the Academic scholarch of the third century BCE, nor the Battiad kings of Cyrene who bore the name.
