Homer sets Antimachus among the counsellors whose greed for Paris' gifts hardened Troy against restoring Helen. When Agamemnon stormed through the Trojan ranks, he seized the staunch sons Antimachus had sent to war — Peisander and Hippolochus together in one car — and hurled them from the chariot before he stripped their shining armour.2
