Galaxy/The codex of Alcimede

In Greek mythology, Alcimede (Ancient Greek Ἀλκιμήδη) is daughter of Phylacus and Clymene the Minyan, wife of Aeson, and mother of Jason in Apollonius and Hyginus — the genealogy that lets the Argonauts be styled Minyae. Distinct from Apollodorus' Polymede daughter of Autolycus, and from Alcimede mother of Phoenix by Amyntor.

I.Mother of Jason

Apollonius names Alcimede daughter of Phylacus as Aeson's wife; her brother Iphiclus of Phylace is Jason's uncle. Through her mother Clymene, daughter of Minyas, Jason belongs to the Minyan stem — whence the poet styles the Argonauts Minyae. When the Argo sails she laments on the shore, straining her son in her arms.

Hyginus follows the same mother for Jason. Apollodorus instead gives Polymede (or Polymele) daughter of Autolycus as Aeson's wife — a competing Iolcian maternity the atlas keeps distinct in prose and relations.

II.Homonyms

Wikipedia's Alcimede page also lists the mother of Phoenix by Amyntor (elsewhere Cleobule or Hippodameia). The atlas id alcimede is Jason's Minyan mother alone.
