Iobates
King of Lycia at the stream of Xanthus — father of Stheneboea and Philonoe — who received Bellerophon bearing Proetus' sealed murder-token and set the Chimera, Solymi, Amazons, and Lycian ambush as trials. Apollodorus notes some call this same king Amphianax.1
Bellerophon
Sent to Lycia with baneful tokens, he slew the Chimera, fought the glorious Solymi and the Amazons, and received half the kingly honour and Philonoe; dying, Iobates bequeathed him the Lycian realm. Father of Isander, Hippolochus, and Laodameia.2
Sarpedon & Glaucus
Homeric co-captains of the Lycians from the eddying Xanthus, held in honour above all in Lycia with seats, messes, and a demesne by Xanthus' banks — Glaucus son of Hippolochus of Bellerophon's house; Sarpedon son of Zeus by Laodameia in Homer, or by Europa (king of Lycia after fleeing Crete) in Apollodorus, who notes both parentages.3
