Tmolus
Husband of Omphale who at his death bequeathed the government of Lydia to her — the only plain Lydian predecessor Apollodorus names before her queenship. Plain name until promoted. Homonym care: Ovid's Mount Tmolus (between Sardis and Hypaepa) that judges Apollo and Pan is the mountain; this reign is the mortal king who left Omphale the throne.1
Omphale
Daughter of Iardanes, queen of Lydia; bought Heracles when Hermes sold him into servitude. By him she bore Agelaus, from whom Apollodorus derives the later house of Croesus — Agelaus himself is not styled a reigning king in the seven lenses, so he is kept out of this list.2
Midas
Ovid's King Midas washes the golden curse in the stream by Sardis and judges the contest on Tmolus overlooking Sardis and Hypaepa. Pausanias instead roots him in Phrygia (Gordion / Ancyra) via Gordius — dual geography, not a continuous Omphale heir.3
