Cychreus
Son of Poseidon and the nymph Salamis; he named the island for his mother, slew its ravaging serpent, and, dying childless, left the kingdom to Telamon. Athenians later kept his sanctuary and named him the fleet-serpent at the Persian sea-fight.1
Telamon
Exiled from Aegina for Phocus' death, he took Salamis from childless Cychreus and fathered Ajax by Periboea and, by Hesione, Teucer. Pausanias adds that Aeginetans colonized the island with him.2
Ajax
King of Salamis when he led twelve ships to Troy and stood as bulwark of the Achaeans after Achilles' wrath.3
Eurysaces
Son of Ajax left on Salamis when Teucer was driven out; Athenians still paid him cult beside Ajax, with an altar of Eurysaces at Athens.4
Philaeus
Son of Eurysaces, grandson of Ajax; handed Salamis over to the Athenians after they made him an Athenian — last named heir of the Telamonian house on the island. Plain attested name (no character node yet).5
