Titan daughter of Uranus and Gaia, consort of Hyperion and mother by him of Helios, Selene and Eos — the sun, moon and dawn.1
Theia belongs to the first Titan generation, one of the daughters Gaia bore to starry Uranus alongside Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe and Tethys. Pseudo-Apollodorus calls her Thia and likewise numbers her among the Titanides born from Earth and Sky.2
Joined in love with Hyperion, she bore the three great lights of the world: Helios the sun, Selene the moon and Eos the dawn. Pseudo-Apollodorus agrees, while Hyginus' genealogy names Aethra as their mother instead; the disagreement is preserved as a source-lens variant.3⚖
