Galaxy/The codex of Telesto

Telesto or Telestho (Ancient Greek: Τελεστώ, "success") is an Oceanid — one of the three thousand water-nymph daughters of the Titans Oceanus and Tethys — and a personification of divine blessing or success. Hesiod names her among the eldest Oceanids and describes her as wearing a yellow peplos; she has no independent mythic episode beyond the Theogony catalogue.

I.Genealogy

Hesiod's Theogony (358) lists Telesto among the daughters of Oceanus and Tethys, "wearing a yellow peplos." She belongs to the large Oceanid sisterhood rather than to any later narrative cycle; later handbooks treat her as the nymph of successful completion or divine favour.

Saturn's moon Telesto, discovered in 1980, is named for her.
