Pausanias names him in a single genealogical clause: Damasichthon had a son Ptolemy, who was the father of Xanthus. He stands between the king chosen when Autesion migrated to the Dorians and the last sole ruler whose death by treachery in a duel persuaded the Thebans to divide their government.2
