Phanus (Ancient Greek: Φᾶνος) is an Argonaut, son of Dionysus and brother of Staphylus, who sailed with Jason to Colchis for the Golden Fleece. Apollodorus places him in the Argo company; later handbooks often take Ariadne of Crete as his mother and name Thoas of Lemnos and Oenopion of Chios among his brothers.

I.Argonaut son of Dionysus
In Apollodorus' Bibliotheca, Phanus sails among the Argonauts on the quest for the Golden Fleece. He is paired with his brother Staphylus as sons of Dionysus aboard the Argo.
Handbooks commonly identify their mother as Ariadne of Crete and count among their brothers Thoas, king of Lemnos, and Oenopion, king of Chios. The atlas keeps Phanus as the Dionysiac Argonaut of that stemma.

This atlas entry (phanus-dionysus) is the Argonaut. He is not Phanes the Orphic cosmogonic figure, nor the butterfly genus Phanus that shares the Latinized spelling.
