Pelegon or Pelagon (Ancient Greek: Πηλεγών / Πελάγων) is the Paeonian father of Asteropaeus. Homer has the river-god Axius beget him on Periboea, eldest daughter of Acessamenus; Asteropaeus vaunts that river descent when he faces Achilles beside Scamander. He is sometimes treated as eponymous founder of Pelagonia and is distinct from the Pylian warrior Pelagon under Nestor.

I.Father of Asteropaeus
In Iliad 21 Asteropaeus traces his blood through Pelegon, whom wide-flowing Axius begot upon Periboea daughter of Acessamenus. The Paeonian captain is thus grandson of a river-god — the lineage Achilles answers by claiming descent from Zeus.
Handbooks sometimes call him Pelagon and take him as eponym of Pelagonia. The atlas keeps the Homeric spelling Pelegon (pelegon-paeonian) for this river-born father alone.
II.Homonyms
Distinct from pelagon-pylian (Nestor's Pylian comrade), from Pelagon king of Phocis who gave Cadmus the guiding cow, and from Pelagon/Pelasgus son of Asopus. His mother is periboea-paeonian; his son is asteropaeus-paeonian.
