Nausithous was the legendary founder of the Phaeacians in Greek mythology, the godlike king who led his people from Hypereia to Scheria (Corcyra) and established their walled city. Homer makes him the son of Poseidon and Periboea and the father of Rhexenor and Alcinous; his prophecy of Poseidon's wrath against the Phaeacians' ship-convoys is fulfilled when Odysseus is carried home.

I.Founder of Scheria
The Phaeacians once lived near the Cyclopes at Hypereia until Nausithous removed them to Scheria, built walls and temples, and divided the land. Alcinous inherited this kingdom and told Odysseus how his father Nausithous had warned that Poseidon would one day punish the island for escorting all travellers safely across the sea.
II.Genealogy
Homer makes Nausithous the son of Poseidon and Periboea, daughter of Eurymedon king of the Giants. Hesiod separately names a Nausithous as a son of Odysseus and Calypso — a namesake in a different branch of tradition.
