Melanippus (Ancient Greek: Μελάνιππος), son of Hicetaon, is a Trojan champion from Percote who dwelt in Priam's house once the war began. Homer has Hector chide him among the kinsmen at the ships; Nestor spears him and Antilochus strips his armour. He is one of several Iliadic Melanippi.

I.Hicetaon's son of Percote
Strabo and the Homeric scholia place Melanippus among Hicetaon's sons (brother of Thymoetes and others). He pastured cattle at Percote until the Danaans came, then lived as a foremost Trojan under Priam. In Iliad 15 Hector urges him into the fight; Nestor strikes him beside the nipple and Antilochus takes the spoils.
Wikipedia and the poem also know a Priamid Melanippus slain by Teucer and yet another Trojan killed by Patroclus — separate atlas nodes where entered.

Not the Theban Melanippus son of Astacus (Seven Against Thebes), not Melanippus of Patrae, not the Achaean gift-bearer, nor melanippus-trojan / melanippus-patroclus-roll / melanippus-achaean. The atlas id melanippus-hicetaonid is Hicetaon's Percotean son alone.
