In Greek mythology, Everes or Eueres (Ancient Greek: Εὐήρης, "well-fitted") was a Theban, often described as a shepherd, husband of the nymph Chariclo and father of the blind prophet Tiresias. He is sometimes traced as a descendant of Udaeus, one of the Spartoi sown by Cadmus.

I.Family
Everes of Thebes was the mortal father, by the nymph Chariclo, of Tiresias. Chariclo is remembered as a favourite attendant of Athena; Everes himself is a genealogical figure whose importance is almost entirely that he anchors Tiresias in the oldest Theban stock.
Ancient and modern notices often make him a descendant of Udaeus, one of the five Spartoi who rose from the dragon's teeth sown by Cadmus when Thebes was founded. That descent places Tiresias among the city's primordial warrior-sown houses.
II.Role in myth
Everes has no major independent narrative. He appears in mythography as the named father when Apollodorus and others introduce Tiresias (Bibliotheca 3.6.7; Hyginus Fabulae 68, 75). Stories of Tiresias' blinding, sex-change, and long prophetic career belong to the son; Everes remains the Theban shepherd behind that line.
III.Homonyms
This atlas entry (everes) is the Theban father of Tiresias. Wikipedia's Everes (mythology) also lists an Arcadian son of Heracles and Parthenope, and a Taphian prince who alone survived among the sons of Pterelaus — distinct figures who share only the name.
