Galaxy/The codex of Eurytion

Eurytion was a centaur who, drunk at Peirithous' wedding, tried to carry off the bride and provoked the battle of Lapiths and centaurs. Heracles later slew a centaur Eurytion at Olenus when he came to fetch Dexamenus' daughter.

I.Mythology

Homer's Odyssey remembers Eurytion as the centaur whom wine maddened in Peirithous' hall.

Apollodorus tells the Olenus episode in which Heracles killed Eurytion the centaur suitor.

Distinct from Eurytion king of Phthia, son of Actor.
