In Greek mythology, Erato was a dryad who served as the priestess and prophetess of the god Pan; verses were attributed to her at an ancient oracle of Pan located near Acacesium in the territory of Megalopolis, Arcadia. She married Arcas, the son of Zeus and Callisto, and bore him three sons: Azan, Apheidas, and Elatus. She is a distinct figure from the Muse Erato of the same name.
