In Greek mythology, Echius (Ancient Greek: Ἔχιος) was an Achaean warrior, father of Mecisteus, slain by the Trojan prince Polites when Apollo roused the Trojans about the ships — distinct from the Lycian Echius whom Patroclus killed beside Sarpedon's men.

I.Father of Mecisteus
Homer twice names Echius as father of Mecisteus, who with Alastor bore wounded comrades from the field when Teucer and Hypsenor fell. In the scattered fight when Hector pressed the Argives back, Polites slew Echius in the forefront even as Polydamas laid Mecisteus low — father and son cut down in the same press.

This atlas entry (echius-achaean) is the Achaean father of Mecisteus. Distinct from Echius the Lycian who followed Sarpedon and was killed by Patroclus in Iliad 16.
