When Meges son of Phyleus leapt upon Polydamas and missed, Polydamas smote Croesmus full upon the breast and Meges set him to strip the armour from his shoulders. Meanwhile upon Meges leapt Dolops, well skilled with the spear, and thrust full upon the shield of Phyleus' son from nigh at hand; but the cunningly-wrought corslet stayed the point.2
