In Greek mythology, Dolon was a Trojan who fought in the Trojan War. Son of the herald Eumedes and swift of foot, he volunteered to spy on the Greek camp for Hector's promise of Achilles' horses, but was captured by Diomedes and Odysseus, interrogated, and beheaded before the two Greeks raided the Thracian camp of Rhesus.

I.The Doloneia
Dolon was the only brother among five sisters, rich in gold and bronze, ill-favoured to look upon but a fast runner. When Hector called for a volunteer to spy on whether the Achaeans still guarded their ships, Dolon alone came forward. Hector offered Achilles' horses and bronze chariot as prize; fearing deceit, Dolon made Hector swear the reward. He set out in a grey wolf skin and a marten-pelt cap, planning to blend into the night by walking on all fours.
By chance Odysseus and Diomedes, already on a night raid, spotted him, hid among the dead, and — with Athena's guidance — ran him down. Dolon begged for life and ransom, naming his wealthy father Eumedes. Odysseus promised mercy if he told why he had come; Dolon confessed Hector's offer and mapped the Trojan and allied camps, including the newly arrived Thracians under Rhesus. Odysseus then revealed that Hector had tricked him — only Achilles could master those horses — and Diomedes beheaded him. The Greeks went on to slay Rhesus and steal his team.
II.Later tradition
The episode is central to Iliad Book 10 (the Doloneia) and to Euripides' Rhesus. Virgil's Aeneid recalls a son of Dolon, also named Eumedes after the grandfather, who survives Troy only to die later in Italy at the hand of Turnus while serving under Aeneas. Ancient vase-painting often shows Dolon crawling in his wolf skin.
