Dione and Aphrodite (Parthenon East Pediment)

Two reclining goddesses from the Parthenon's east pediment in the British Museum are traditionally read as Dione supporting Aphrodite — Homer's mother of the love-goddess watching Athena's birth. Whether or not the names are certain, the marble pair remains Dione's most famous monumental presence.
