Son of Argus and Evadne who succeeded his father to the kingdom of Argos in Apollodorus' catalogue of the early Peloponnesian kings.1

Apollodorus counts Criasus among the sons Argus begat on Evadne, daughter of Strymon and Neaera — with Ecbasus, Piras, and Epidaurus — and says that Criasus also succeeded to the kingdom after his father had named the land Argos.2

Hyginus' compressed genealogy likewise makes Criasus a son of Argus and Evadne, born beside Piranthus and Ecbasus before the collateral lines that produce Triopas and the later Inachids.3
