Hyginus says Laius carried Chrysippus away from the Nemean games because of his beauty. Pelops made war and recovered his son, bringing him back into a household already divided by succession.2

At Hippodamia's instigation, Atreus and Thyestes killed their half-brother. Pelops held Hippodamia responsible, and she killed herself; the murder places fratricide in the dynasty before the brothers' own struggle for Mycenae.3
